Fox Rent A Car San Francisco

I want to take the time and write an exceptional review for my first time renting with Fox. I was skeptical when I saw the reviews, but Jose made this experience an exceptional one that I came back and rented another car. Furthermore, when I stopped by Utah I again went for Fox. This was my first time renting with them and Jose took the time to explain details and offered exceptional customer service service. When Jose found out that we are in the gist of a wedding, he didn't think twice on giving us a nice upgrade! Jose does take good care of his customers. Thank you as you've made this trip much smoother and easier for me and my family!🙏🏻

In addition to having to take a train, and then a shuttle bus (we knew it was an off site location) we had a very long wait to get to the counter. EuroCar is a large, international car rental agency that partners with Fox for domestic US rentals. This means you are a second class citizen if you are not with EuroCar. There were only two attendants, and the wait in line was around 90 minutes, but what made it so frustrating was that anytime a EuroCar renter entered that went straight to the front for immediate service, regardless of how long anyone else had been waiting. Took us no time at all. They have a shuttle to pick-up/drop-off you off to the airport. Randy helped us navigate all the pricing in California. We had no idea. We didn't like the first car they gave us...but they were happy to replace it.

Beware of shady business practices. I specifically denied insurance and prepayment for gas for my car rental as insurance is covered by my credit card. However, the agent assisting me (Angel) did not take off the insurance. When calling to inquire about the charges after my vacation because I only received a portion of my deposit back, I was told I purchased insurance and that nothing could be done. You’ll have to read the fine print on your agreement carefully because the reps will try to rip you off.

A few months ago my partner and I rented a car through Fox and experienced a serious safety issue during our trip. While driving, one of the tires popped. Afterward, the dashboard alerted us that all four tires were significantly overinflated, averaging around 50 psi when the maximum recommended pressure is 35 psi (see attached photo). Additionally upon inspection of the tires, it was obvious that the tread on the tires was insufficient and not safe for driving, only providing ample opportunity for the tire to pop at any moment (photos attached). This created a highly dangerous situation. Fortunately, only one tire failed, but the risk could have been much worse. Additionally, the vehicle did not have a spare tire or any means to safely deflate the remaining tires to the correct pressure.
