Funkytown Car Wash

Great DIY car wash. Seems to be maintained and taken care of unlike other car washes. Also has credit card option which is very handy. Highly recommend!

I have lived in this area since the 70s. I used to clean my first car here in the later 80s. My childhood home is not even a mile from here. I've seen it change through many years. It was being let go with trash and people hanging around all the time of the night. I didn't want to wash my car there anymore. Now it's under new owner who painted it these fun colors. My husband and I noticed it right away, but there were still people with no cars to clean hanging out and still had an unkempt look to it. My husband started to clean up around there. We have a soft spot for this place. We both washed our first cars here. It was just a matter of stopping in to clean up a little trash. We met the owner, who is a really great guy, and he appreciated my husband. I still didn't like the people hangin

I stopped by on November 25th, 2025 for the $1.75 wash , but my card was charged $15 instead. I’ve been waiting for the refund and haven’t seen it reflected in my bank account. Just warning others to be careful using their card until this issue is fixed.

It was affordable however, will pay more somewhere else to clean my car. I usually go to a different car wash that is a little more pricey to do it myself just like this one and I'm able to leave with it wet and I don't get marks like this left on my car. It's residue that did not come off and I paid for a longer wash so I don't know what happened.

Do not go here it’s unsafe. Last evening visited first time in awhile thinking it’s been updated- but it takes a turn-there’s some guys behind the fence continuously trying to talk to me. The fence is completely torn down on one side and there appears to be squatters living here. I parked and took a photo so I can report this to the city. THIS IS WEIRD. I don’t know if the owner has cameras or just doesn’t care because I thought this place was improving. Beware. I won’t come back here. Sad cause self service is being taken over by big chains, but besides the weird vibe, also very pricey for self serve.
