German Auto Service

I was very excited to see a place to get my car serviced in between home and work (and they provide a free shuttle when dropping off the car.....PERFECT!). Oil change was quoted at $175. Picking up the car the bill was $230. Huh? "yes we estimated you only needing 7 quarts and your car took 10 quarts and it is $12/quart" How is this not easily known? $12 per quart??? I was also charged $2.50 for topping off my windshield fluid. Huh? Everyone seemed fine and the guy dropping me off in the morning was super nice. But I have to feel like I'm not getting nickel and dimed on an oil change. Wouldn't feel comfortable getting extensive work done if that is how its going to be with an oil change. Unfortunate.

Received written bid for transmission service with new filter for 400. Took our vin number. When the car was picked up was told it didn't need a new filter. I wanted a new filter. Was told if they'd have done that it would have been over 800. So, why was it in the bid? Won't be going back.

I have two diesel vws that went through the early recall. German Auto understands the challenges and works to mitigate them. I trust their judgement and expertise.

We are on a cross country road trip and I started having a problem with the A/C in my Mercedes Benz. I found German Imports Specialists and gave them a call. When I first called, I was on hold for 27 minutes. I finally hung up and called back. They had forgotten that I was on hold and never apologized. However, I still went to them because of the good reviews. Graf called me back quickly with a diagnosis and solution. I told him to go ahead and do the work. When I got back to his shop, he told me I had a coolant leak. When he showed me the “leak” I realized that it wasn’t a coolant leak, whoever was working on my car had broken the reservoir accidentally (he did say that someone might have leaned on it, but then said that it shouldn’t have broken so easily). Second time these folks have saved me, my wallet, and my car so i have to write a review. If you need someone to figure out whats wrong with your VW car and get it fixed, these guys have your back. I wouldnt hesitate to come back to these guys to fix something on my car because they find the problem quick, they fix it, and they charge extremely fairly for how much they could charge! Theyre also incredibly friendly, which is always a bonus. Not sure what else to say. They're trustworthy mechanics, which is hard to find nowadays.
