GVT Tire & Auto - Savage

Special thank you to Aaron for going above and beyond! I came in to have prepurchase inspection done and I have to say I was very impressed. At the counter while ringing me up, Aaron was willing to spend as much time as I wanted to go over the findings as well as the Carfax report while sharing his insights and answering questions. At one point, he even took the initiative to call up one of the other shops that had worked on this truck previously and was able to ascertain some extremely helpful information that was essential in making my final decision in passing on the purchase. I also though the price for the inspection was very fair & reasonable. I've had a handful of these done before at other places and have to say that this one has been most helpful that I've ever had.

Beware, as they weren't honest with me. Also, their rating is mostly for Southcross Auto, which they bought, and so not the same company. Don't rely on their long-term Google rating. Brought my daughters car in there for a brake inspection and service, as the brakes had low pressure. They added brake fluid and bled them, determined there were no leaks. They told me that I also needed all new brakes, and that the fronts were especially bad and the rear were needing it as well. I held off on having the brakes replaced, as I could do this with my brother in his personal shop at a later time and with probably better parts. I recently had some work done at GVT Auto & Tire, and I feel compelled to write a review because good customer service deserves to be recognized when you find it. Anyone who has dealt with auto shops knows the experience can sometimes feel a bit… transactional. Drop the car, wait for the bill, hope nothing explodes. But that was not the case here. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt different. The shop had that perfect blend of professionalism and “small-town garage” energy where people actually acknowledge you, make eye contact, and treat you like a human being instead of a repair ticket. Josh & the team are detail oriented, honest, and care about their customers. I just had some extensive repairs done and Josh kept me informed every step of the way. It has been well over 20 years since I've had to bring 1 of my cars to a mechanic to fix. This was 1 of those times where I couldn't fix the problem on my own and dreaded having to choose who I could trust to fix it. I did everything thing that GVT Auto of Savage told me that would fix my car. Over $6K later the original problem still isn't fixed.
