I’m writing to express my serious concerns regarding the service I received at this auto shop. I brought my van in for a routine state inspection, but I was informed that the steering wheel rods needed to be replaced and that an alignment was required—totaling over $500. This immediately raised red flags, so I declined the service and took my van to another reputable auto shop for a second opinion. The second mechanic inspected the exact components this shop claimed were defective and found no issues whatsoever. This experience cost me unnecessary time and money, and it appears to be a clear attempt to take advantage of customers—especially disappointing during the holiday season. I sent my car to Hampton roads car care it was drivable they had to replace my water pump which set behind the timing belt when I received my car they said it wouldn’t move I was stuck with a car that couldn’t move and a $980 bill just find out from another mechanic that the timing belt was done wrong and they put the wrong belt on my car correction I didn’t attempt to work on nothing the car was at another mechanic shop and it got towed by the city so I got the car out and had it towed to Hampton roads car care and I know for a fact that the timing was done wrong because my car is currently running fine since I had someone else fix it but I will admit that belt wasn’t the wrong belt but the job wasn’t done right so with that said I can’t in good faith recommend this shop

These people are crooks! Seriously if I could leave 0 stars I would. My husband brought his truck here to get an inspection and they were going to charge him over 200$ to replace a headlight which we in fact knew the headlight was just working. My husband asked them to show him the headlight not working and it cut on right away. Do not give these people your business! Management needs to investigate these people!

Want terrible service at a high price? Read this: This is a long chat but to start I had my 4lo light blinkkng on my 2012 tundra and the shop was recommended by my warranty group; well low and behold dropped the truck off tuesday, wednesday was told what was wrong, but could not contact the warranty company due to closed for the holidays(thanksgiving thursday). Therefore, I asked if the truck could be picked up & they said I had to wait till company gave confirmation, so I agreed thursday was thanksgiving didnt expect much friday i called the warranty company and car care had yet to call so i called car care to find out they were working on it and another warranty, then i got a call a little later letting me know the warranty company wasnt covering it so i asked to pick up the truck saturd

Patricia and Irene are very friendly and easy to talk to, and are very good at their job. The head mechanic/owner/guru Won, however, is a nuts and bolts mechanic and doesn’t like to hear any nonsense. It can be taken as gruffness, but he is fair and knowledgeable, and will explain why he is doing what he’s doing, and break down the costs. The best quality of Hampton Roads Car Care is, if you have a hard to find part for non-drive train issues, that is not readily available, they will work with you to get the job done. I am disabled and can’t do car maintenance any more, but Won is a good set of hands to help me out. I recommend that you give these folks a try.
