Hertz Car Rental - Elk Grove - East Stockton Boulevard

Returned a car after one day of use, The same evening I received an email notified me. There was damage to the rear driver side door.. The following morning, I went back to the location, It was a smudge/Dirt That I wiped off, And now Hertz Is still trying to charge me for the supposed damage. Even when I went back the next day, the lady at the counter was surprised that the AI camera identified the smudge As damage, And right now Hertz Will not even call the location where the car was rented to confirm with their own employee that the car is not damaged…. Worst rental company ever, Right now it’s more of a principle than the money itself!! Be careful if you’re renting from them, If you have a smudge or a dirt mark on your car They will try to charge you for supposed damages…. Make sur

I wouldn’t recommend going to this location. The staff was not friendly. I got a car for the weekend and the cost was $209. I was charged 710 day of picking up the car. Which is responsible being that there is a 500$ which was not disclosed upon pick up. Then a day later I was charged an additional $184 before I even dropped off the car. When I asked the woman about this she had no idea why I was charged an additional amount totaling to $700 and just said it should come back in 7 days. This seems like fraud to me they have horrible customer service and they have unexplained charges, I have yet to recieve my money back, I frequently rent cars from hertz and have never had this happen before! We had a last minute schedule change for a sports tournament, needed to make a quick booking, and Jackie had us on the road with our vehicle within minutes. She even caught a ding in the passenger side that I didn't notice on the vehicle inspection, showed the documentation on the app, and we were on our way.

All my years renting from Hertz as a gold member, I am used to picking up and returning the vehicle with very little effort and treated professionally, which is usually at the airport. This time I picked up the car at the airport and it took 15 minutes at the exit to fix an issue with the vehicle. Apparently, it was not ready in the system to release it to me. Two days later, I returned it at another location, in the city and was treated like 3rd class. Upon returning I was only the second person in the office and had to wait 20 minutes to get help and the person who help me was quite rude and accused me of chipping the windshield, which I never noticed. I had an amazing experience thanks to Jackie at Hertz! My original reservation had been unexpectedly canceled, and I was feeling really stressed. Jackie immediately put me on a waiting list and, to my surprise, called me back within an hour with two car options — one electric and one gas. I was concerned about driving long distance with an electric car, and Jackie completely understood. She went above and beyond by offering me the gas car (which was more expensive) at the same price as the electric, just to make sure I felt comfortable. But it didn’t stop there — after I left, she even followed up with a phone call to help me fix the drop-off location. I truly felt cared for throughout the entire process.
