Hertz Car Rental - Florence Sc - 2nd Loop Road

Be sure to pay the extra so your rental fee is refundable, I didn't and I am furious at myself. We flew to Shreveport, La, with a confirmed rental car from Hertz, I even confirmed the reservation from the airport in Charlotte, so they knew we were on the way. Our flight was delayed so we didn't land until 11pm, by the time we made it to the Hertz rental counter, it was 11:15 and the counter was CLOSED, no lights, noone in sight. I contacted customer service, only to be told that Hertz Corporate can not control the local location and there was nothing they could do. They told me that my car would still be waiting in the morning, how was I going to get to the hotel without a car??? Good thing National was still open and had a vehicle available. Called me at 8:30am (30 minutes before my booking started) to inform me they didn’t have the vehicle I needed & couldn’t get it until 12pm. I informed the young man I needed it at the time I booked it and he basically said that was my problem and hung up on me. Horrible service and management planning.

I rental from hertz all the time for the past 30yrs when I go on Vacation or even local. I reserved my rental a week before arriving for Vacation in Florence SC. Went to hertz to pick up the vehicle I reserved i added roadside assistance & their insurance. I was told at the counter that I needed to use my own insurance as well & I needed the declaration page & insurance card in paper form. I only carry liability on my vehicle because it's paid for. I have never heard of that ever, however. Went up the street to enterprise rental & no problem got a car in 10 mins & they never heard of that either . I'm on vacation, why would I have my declaration & ins card with me if I'm not driving my vehicle. Very Annoying

This location and company has been unbelievably frustrating. After breaking down on a trip and in need of a rental I reserved a vehicle. With plans to return home to WV I made it clear which location I’d drop it off at and that I’d be returning home. The then proceeded to attempt to charge me well over double for dropping off at “the wrong location” and had the audacity to place a second charge for the same amount on my card 2 months after the fact. Do not rent from Hertz.

Scammers a scammer, a scammers rental location I wish I can give them no star but no choice they used hertz name but they are not u rent car from them one way and they end up making u bring it back because they have no other locations the original hertz won’t even expect they car for drop off in any location I rent car for one way when I get to my state where the car should be dropped no hertz want to take it because they don’t use reservation number like original hertz company they use contract number after 4 hours of trying all hertz location around where I was I called the office in 2nd loop where I rent the car from asking them to find solution they ignored me I asked them to extend my days so I can drive back to them they say we have no access here u have to go to hertz rental locatio
