Hertz Car Rental - Fort Worth - Camp Bowie West

I reserved a vehicle in advance with a scheduled pickup time of 12:00 PM and arrived around 12:30 PM. There was no one at the counter for approximately 15 minutes. When I was finally assisted, I was assigned a vehicle, but no vehicles were actually ready until 1:44 PM — resulting in well over an hour of additional delay beyond my reservation time. Unfortunately, this mirrors my previous experience at this same location about a month ago. On that visit, I was given a voucher to take the vehicle to a car wash down the road before I could even begin my trip. The windshield was so dirty it was difficult to see, and the vehicle only had a quarter tank of fuel. Having to both wash and immediately refuel a rental car before starting a trip is unacceptable. Booked online for a car and then was called that there wasn't a car available and that they have not had cars for a week. Asked if there was a possibility of one being turned in later that day and was told most likely not. I asked if I would get a charge or anything and was told I shouldn't to take it up with Expedia. Called Expedia and they confirmed that no car was available and that I should not receive a charge. Looked at my card statement and was charged a no show fee. I confirmed and Expedia confirmed that no car was available and I would not receive a charge. Trying to get someone on the phone in regards to the charge took forever.

I showed up to Hertz at 10:30am for my 11am reservation like a responsible adult who understands how reservations work. Apparently Hertz treats reservations as optional suggestions. I was told there were no cars available even though I had a confirmed booking. So I spent the next three hours sitting in the waiting area watching other people somehow get cars while my reservation collected dust. At that point I gave up and booked a train instead. Let’s be clear: if a customer cancels late, Hertz charges fees. But when Hertz can’t fulfill a confirmed reservation for someone who shows up on time, the customer gets absolutely nothing except wasted hours. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is Absolute trash. We booked a SUV for the Thanksgiving break a month in advance, the day We were supposed to pick up our vehicle. I called to see what we would be renting, only to be told that they do not have a vehicle… not only that, that they did not have a transporter working to get a vehicle from another location… The front desk lady is extremely rude. She hung up on me and my partner multiple times, calling from two different locations two different phones and everything. That lady should not have a job in customer service whatsoever. To top everything off, we were charged not only for the booking of the vehicle, we were charged for the insurance as well… Then we get told the insurance is “nonrefundable “ because we did not cancel 72 hour

The customer service is hit or miss, as if you’re inconveniencing them by walking in as a customer. It took about 30 mins to find my reservation because (I assume) the person working was fairly new, but wasn’t trying to be of assistance until they called the manager and were told how to locate it. The car itself was fine and returning it was a fairly simply process with a nice representative.
