Hertz Car Rental - Gainesville - N Main Street

Worst place ever, booked the car one way, but after coming to the location, last moment they are saying we have a car but don’t provide one way. They said system allowed but we don’t provide. Shame on the company, if their system allows and it’s their fault, they should be responsible for it and should provide the car. Booked the car around 11am and went to pick around 4:30pm. I didn’t get any call or info saying they don’t have a car. Store was not busy at all. But the person sitting there told that they were very busy and not able to call. Such a lie. Very bad customer service.

Nick and Ty made me feel enthusiastic about renting the car and encouraged me to enjoy my vacation. I came back and they both had a nice smile. Nick told me and showed me the online selection of vehicles for sale. He opened my eyes. I didn't know Hertz sold cars. Can't wait to buy a car from Hertz. They were very helpful. They made a huge difference in my experience with Hertz. Excellent Customer Service!

My husband’s truck is in the shop for a repair, and we needed a second vehicle as we both have jobs and an active family. He called this location to inquire, and they offered a Toyota Camry. Upon his arrival, they had no Camrys and “haven’t had any in years.” He instead got stuck with a Nissan Altima which smelled like a putrid combination of cigarettes and mildew. Thankfully, it’s been warmer than usual this January, so he was able to drive with the windows down. Upon returning the car, he complained about the smell. We were then given a bill with a $200 smoking fee he had to fight to have removed. The bottom line is that this location is cheap, in every sense of the word: cars for rent, location, and also quality of employees. Never again.

So unprofessional, they let me know that the car is not available just 20 minutes before the pickup. I booked it three days earlier only to find they don't have any car on the pickup day-it messed up my whole plan. They should be more professional to let us know way ahead so that we can make some alternative arrangements.
