Hertz Car Rental - Marvin K Brown Hle

I’ve had a great experience renting from the Hertz at 1441 Camino Del Rio South in Mission Valley. The staff was friendly, efficient, and had me in and out quickly for both pickup and return. The car was clean, in good condition, and matched what I reserved with no surprise fees. The location is easy to get to and the hours work well if you’re picking up after work or dropping off in the morning. I’ll definitely use this Hertz again and recommend this branch if you want a smooth, hassle-free rental.

I recently had to repair my truck and rent a vehicle through Hertz, which is also located at Marvin K. Brown Auto Center. Unfortunately, the service advisor did not communicate repair updates effectively, either to me or to Hertz. Even after my warranty was approved to cover the rental car, Hertz continued charging me due to this lack of coordination. Additionally, the rental vehicle I received from Hertz developed battery issues after only four days of use. As a result, I was unable to use the car for the full duration promised and had to arrange for it to be towed back. Despite this inconvenience, the full rental amount was still charged to my warranty, which I feel is unfair. I ubered to this location after booking and receiving confirmation that a car would be ready a great price (worth the uber rather than pick up locally). Upon arrival, the first attendant started to stall and asked me to wait 15-20 minutes until he had an update. At least the person next to him had the decency to tell me right then that they did not expect to have any cars for at least 4 hours.

Terrible experience and terrible customer service. I would never recommend this place. I called yesterday to ensure everything was set up and ready to go for this morning. I informed them I had work and needed everything prepared. I gave all my information and the insurance information of the person who hit me. I was rear ended by someone and their insurance was supposed to cover my rental car. I arrived this morning and Hector stopped in the middle of helping us to help another customer who came in after us. Absolutely unacceptable. He left his desk to go out into the parking lot to look at the car this person returned. Again, this person came in AFTER us. Then their credit card machine was not working for either of my cards. I'm a traveling nurse and I've needed to use a rental car for over a month! The team at Marvin K. Brown location has been super patient and helpful throughout the entire time. Always willing to make accommodations where they can, even at the last minute, which I genuinely appreciate. Best San Diego Hertz Location I've experienced throughout my stay, for sure. And they have a decent selection of cars :)
