Hertz Car Rental - Nashville - Hilton Downtown

The CS representative was not very helpful. He simply seemed like he didn't care to hear what I was trying to explain to him. Otherwise everything else was great. Location was perfect. Car was good.

I didn’t look at reviews before I booked here, but I should have. I waited around 40 min to pick up the car because only one guy seemed to be working. They didn’t adjust my rental time to reflect that delay, but if I turned in a car that late I’d be charged I’m sure. I rented a compact and the guy at the counter immediately let me know they don’t have compacts and I would be responsible for paying for the SUV grade vehicles price difference. I pushed back because that makes no sense. I’ve never heard of the customer being liable for hundreds extra because the rental company falsely advertised what was available. The guy was super dismissive and at this point I had already waited forever so I just paid and left. I immediately called customer service and after a 30 min call was told this was

You see the reviews and think "what could go wrong if I am just returning there". That dude that works there put in the system that I returned the car 1 day later which caused late fees and additional rental day cost. Never got any email with final invoice either. Would never notice this if I wasn't going through cc records. Avoid.

The service for checking out the car was good especially it being on Christmas day. The car was in good condition, but figuring out how to get out and back in the parking structure is tricky. It would be nice to have better signage or a person to guide tourist traffic in and out.

I was skeptical about how my experience would be picking up my rental at the Hilton in Nashville as I read some less than positive reviews, but I had a really good experience. The customer service was pleasant and best of all, very quick and easy. The car was ready and clean and full of fuel. One of my better experiences picking up a rental.
