Hertz Car Rental - Nashville - Nashville International Airport (BNA)

UPDATE FOR RETURN: we filled the tank before returning and are now being charged $32 for fuel. The email said to prove we fueled it by sending in a receipt. I sent in a picture of the dash I took before leaving the vehicle. Why do I have to provide proof? Why isn’t the person DOING THEIR JOB by verifying the tank level before charging my account which now I have to fight to get back. HORRIBLE experience and will NEVER rent with Hertz again. We also returned the car a day early and was denied a refund - I accepted that, but charge me for fuel when the tank was full? Unacceptable. UPDATE: one hour later and we are still in line. When my friend picked up the rental she was told that the rental was not previously paid for, although it was in fact already paid for, so they charged her another $300. I was scheduled to land an hour after her so when I finally landed I was able to clarify to her that the rental was in fact already paid for so we proceeded to go back to customer service to see what exactly she was charged with. After speaking to the representative he mentioned the same thing, that it wasn’t paid for. So I proceeded to show him my receipt. He then called a manager and he was confused as to what was going on because he showed that the reservation was in fact already paid for but that what we had paid for was additional insurance. Almost perfect experience. As a gold member, we showed up on time, our name wasn't on the board. But when we went inside, they said our jeep was in one of the closest spots. Check out went great. Drove the vehicle almost 1600 miles, checked it in and that process was flawless. Only thing that didn't go perfectly was our name on the board. Super minor. Wanted to make sure to leave a review since there has been quite a few negative reviews lately.

First, I had expected to be able to go to the gold member area and pick up my rental without having to stop at the counter. It was not clear to me where that was in the Nashville BNA Airport so I stopped at the Hertz counter in the airport to ask and since i was there verify that the collision insurance i selected during my reservation online was on the order. The clerk pulled up my reservation, saw that I was a "Gold Member" and could skip the line. I also asked for him the verify the collision insurance was on there. Instead of verifying the the insurance and directing me to the Hertz lot in the parking garage he added 2 other insurances to my reservation and had me check in there at the Hertz counter. We stopped and filled up the Jeep with fuel just before we returned it. I filled it all the way up to the top of the fill neck just to be sure it was full. I know the tank was full because I could see the fuel at the top of the fill neck! Then, after dropping off the return, I got an email that I was billed for two gallons of gas at $10 a gallon. Whoever checked the vehicle charged me for something I know was not right. Hertz has ripped me off and cheated me. You can either make it right, or I will take my business elsewhere. I don't do business with dishonest people.
