Hertz Car Rental - Philadelphia Amtrak Station - Market Street

Can’t pick your own car, which makes me sad. And they can’t clean the exterior so many cars are dirty, from various sources. It’s a convenient location. Many of the employees are friendly. Which is good considering the high level of engagement. My only suggestion to you is, check your bill. I returned a car around 12:30 on a Sunday. Dropped the keys in the box because everyone must have been at lunch. Got the receipt the next day and found I was charged a $12 late fee. Meanwhile the vehicle was returned almost a day early. Check your receipts!!

Terrible experience. My president circle status was not honored at the location. In addition to this, the car was unclean, and I found used tissues in the glove compartment. The car's air conditioner, when turned on, would smell like cigarettes. The worst part is the check engine light was on! When I asked the manager to switch the car, my request was denied, saying they did not have any other cars to assign, and I noticed the lot was full of Hertz cars. Terrible experience! I do not recommend using this location.

I picked up my vehicle without a reservation. The team members on site were very helpful and patient. I was also escorted to the vehicle by the young woman who assisted me. Drop off was a bit challenging due to the construction at the Amtrak station. The staff was very helpful once we found the drop off location.

One star for Hertz but it is not for the staff or the facility, it's for Hertz's sneaky charges. If you pick up a car early they charge extra. If you pick it up late but still bring it back within 48 hours they charge extra. I set my reservation time for 5:00 and picked it up at 3:30 and got charged an extra hour even though I brought it back within 24 hours (22 hours to be precise). Another time I set the pickup time for 2:00 p.m. and picked it up at 5:00 brought it back within 48 hours and still got charged for 3 days rather than 2.

I was a little nervous given all of the poor reviews on here, but my pick up experience was excellent! All 3 staff members at the desk were very kind. The woman in the middle that helped me was really sweet and funny. My check in went very smooth, I picked up on a Friday afternoon and from check in to driving out of the station took less than 20 minutes. Maybe non locals gave the poor reviews? Come in chill and not on no bs and you will get the best service! Thanks again
