He also resolved the issue promptly upon returning the car, alleviating my concerns.

Only giving a decent review because of Meka at the exit gate. What a angel. Thank you so much for taking care of us. The first car was so bad and smelt like someone just chain smoked in the car. As soon as we rolled down the window the smell hit her. She refused to let us "deal with it". We got a fresh clean crisp car. We appreciate her and how she went above and beyond. Rental counter was a long line. Took forever which is why we just gave up with the first car. We just wanted to get to the hotel. But she took care of us and made our trip so much better! White car was the first car. Blue is the second car.

The car was clean and the agent who checked me out was pleasant. The major issue was that this rental company closes at 1:00 a.m., while all the others stay open. Hertz shuttles also stop running at that time. When I arrived, every other rental company had shuttle buses circulating except Hertz. I ended up standing outside in 36-degree weather for about 30 minutes until a shuttle from a competing company kindly picked me up and drove me to Hertz. It’s possible this detail was buried in one of the many confirmation emails, but after receiving five of them, I didn’t expect something this important to be hidden inside.
