Hertz Car Rental - Roanoke Regional Airport

Ended up taking half an hour to pick up the car. First, I was told I didn't need to have my wife there to sign for it. After she left, I was told I needed to have her drive back and actually sign to be an additional driver. I'm a Gold Member, but because my wife purchased it through Priceline, I was not able to add her as an additional driver. I have to pay $15 for every day that she is going to be a driver. I told them to add her for two specific days, and then when I got the email at home, I saw that I had been charged for four. Not the worst experience ever, but definitely not a good one. I would have left 3 stars, but then, when I tried to call to correct the issue when I got home, no one would pick up the phone.

Placed reservation on Expedia and when I got to the airport was told they did not have any sameday rentals although I had a confirmation. I asked multiple times if I needed to do anything to not get charged and ended up getting a no-show fee. After 30 minutes of fighting with AI and finally talking to a person, I was able to get refunded

Why would an airport location close at midnight while flights arrive at any time after that? Is it too much to have 1 person at the desk between midnight and morning shift? I cannot pickup after midnight and for early drop off there is no key drop box.... If the key i left in the open on the desk gets lost I am sure Hertz will go after me...I understand this is a private location but Hertz needs to demand minimum standards. Update I arrived after midnight and Derrick Lewis was waiting for me and other travellers. Thank you for your accommodations, makes all the difference!

Excellent service! And they kept their promise about keeping our car for us even if our flight was delayed, as it was for 3 hours. Just don’t all the phone number if you think you need to tell them you will be later than you thought, as you get a representative from a foreign country, and tell you that you will lose your car. Just go by your original contract and the promise on the website. As long as they have your flight number, you are good.
