Hertz Car Rental - Rockville - Rockville Pike

PRESIDENTIAL MEMBER: Hertz rental in Rockville MD - don’t expect every Hertz to be well managed , but there should be some level of consistency when they open a location. I live 1 mile from HERTZ, prefer to go out of my way and rent at the airport. THIS IS CAR I RECEIVED AS A PRESIDENTIAL MEMBER? TOLD I COULD WIPE OFF TOW MESSAGE!

I rent cars somewhat frequently and cannot remember my last time writing a negative review of any business, but the truly terrible and baffling experience at Hertz inspired me. I made a reservation on the Hertz app, got a confirmation number, and came to the pickup location. The staff at the desk flatly told me they had zero inventory and couldn't honor the reservation. They were also unable to cancel it, but said I wouldn't be charged a no-show fee. I was indeed charged the no-show fee, and later had to spend a long time navigating Hertz's AI-based customer service line to get it refunded. And I had to go to another place to get an actual car to rent, which I urgently needed.

My review is formally escalate a serious safety concern regarding our rental experience with this Hertz rental. We reserved a Toyota RAV4 or similar SUV. At pickup, due to strict time constraints and imminent travel into West Virginia during January blizzard conditions, we specifically asked the Hertz staff whether the 2025 Kia Soul we were offered was all-wheel drive (AWD) and suitable for extremely cold, snowy, and icy conditions. We were explicitly told yes. We later confirmed that the 2025 Kia Soul is front-wheel drive only and does not offer AWD. This information was factually incorrect. That incorrect assurance directly influenced our decision to accept the vehicle when we otherwise would not have done so. As a result, we were forced to drive in blizzard conditions in West Virgini

Came to this Hertz location to pick up a sedan and they gave me this Chevy Malibu, it was in great condition and service up to date, super cheap on gas and great MPG. Pick up process was super FAST, took less tan 10 min and drop-off was smooth as well , took less than 5 min. Received my refund on my credit card immediately. I washed the car before returning it and filled with gas, I'm happy with this experience my advisor was a Lady not sure of her name she was professional and friendly. I will definitely come back to this location, I used to rent few years back when they were in the previous location across the street and they did great back there as well. Thank you hertz for the great experience hope to do business with you again.

⚠️ Avoid Renting Here! I rented a car for two days from dollar rent car (this the same car and place of Hertz)— it was dirty and full of dog hair. After one day, the check engine light came on, and customer service refused to send a replacement, telling me to drive two hours round trip to the nearest airport instead — even though I had full coverage. When I returned the car and asked for compensation, they simply said “sorry, nothing we can do.” The counter staff was nice but completely unhelpful. You don’t get what you pay for — avoid this place.
