Hertz Car Rental - Tucson - Tucson International Airport (TUS)

Just horrible. Maybe we made the mistake of using a third party to book, and the lady wouldn’t rent it to my husband. She wouldn’t accept his card payment. Then, they wanted to see return flight information to Tucson. Well we have it for Phoenix. OK, that was fine with them, but she said she can’t rent it to us because they won’t except his payment. They also tried to charge us more. Nope. Then, they asked to prepay gas because it’s $5 a gallon in Phoenix. Lady, no, it’s like $3.15 a gallon lol. The refund for our pre booking is going to be a nightmare as well. Then, I asked to book directly with them. It was the same circumstances, and she ended up saying “I can’t rent this car to you for a one way to a Phoenix” for literally no reason. I walked next door to E********e (green and black te

Cars are blah and consistently dirty. Service at this location is mid...certainly not up to par with Orlando, San Diego, or even Dayton. The only Hertz location that is worse is Shreveport. We are sadly past the Hertz glory days. This time they "forgot" to close my rental. How do you "forget" to close the rental on a car that is returned, locked, and the key put in the drop box? Stuff like this makes me wonder why I'm being loyal to what appears to be a sinking ship. Surely the other guys can do better. Update: it's been 15 days...nothing...radio silence. No charge, no invoice, no receipt. It's like these guys don't want to get paid! I can give a 5-star rating for the overall experience. The pickup and drop-off went smoothly and the employees are very helpful. The concern is that the vehicle I received was just plain dirty. A previous renter got ink from a marker on the center console, there were smudges from dirty hands on the light colored interior, finger prints inside and outside of the windows, and water spots all over the car's paint. I detail my own vehicles, and it bothered me so much that I actually took several micro fiber towels and spray to help clean up. The touchscreen had smudges all over it and I just felt gross sitting in the car. I actually returned the rental CLEANER than I received it, but the water spots are really set in. I filled the tank all the way up less than half a mile from the return, at the closest gas station there is, and was still charged $15 for gas. Check your receipt for bogus charges. Follow up- I contacted customer service about this the same day I returned the vehicle and again a week later. Both times I was told someone would take care of it or contact me.... I have still not been refunded and nobody has contacted me. Sure it's only $15, but stealing any amount of money is not cool.

Update... Changing this review because I returned the car full of gas and was charged 17.00 for fuel for not filling it, this place is a scam and will never rent from them again if this is how they treat their Gold members. Based on previous reviews this seems to be a common thread and I would have never thought to check my receipt. Someone is lining their pockets on every rental.
