HOOKED UP TOWING & RECOVERY

We had a very concerning experience with Hooked Up Towing and feel others should be aware. My boyfriend’s vehicle was towed, and we were told the charge would be $390, supposedly a flat rate regardless of when the vehicle was picked up. When we politely asked for proof of their pricing structure or a posted rate sheet, staff told us they “didn’t have to provide that” and refused to explain how the fee was determined. This immediately raised concerns, especially because there was no visible pricing, rate signage, or fee schedule posted anywhere in the office. When we questioned how customers could verify pricing consistency, the employee insisted everyone is charged the same amount. However, while we were there, other customers were quoted different prices, contradicting what we were told

I have been towed twice by them, once in 2022 and again the winter of 2024. The first time I had been experiencing food poisoning for the first time so I hadn't realized there had been snow and that my building had my car removed to plow. The second was after moving to Iowa and coming up to see my parents after my dad's cancer diagnosis, it didn't look like we had gotten 2 inches of snow (the point they call for towing and plowing) so I had to delay going home to deal with getting my vehicle. We tried to explain the situation to the person running things on the front end to see if any sympathy was available, but they just mocked us and said "the owner had to deal with cancer and he's just fine, you probably be fine." To whom it may concern: I was dealing with my elderly family member at Bass Lake Crossing and was parked in front of their apartment complex and was towed. When I spoke to Travis at hooked up towing he told me I was parked in front of a fire zone which I did not see a sign stating otherwise. I proceeded to let him know that my elderly family member could not walk far so therefore I parked with my hazard lights on to ensure my family member can get to the vehicle safely. however the way that apartment building is set up its does not indicate that I was parked in a fire zone.. There was not a sign on the side that I parked on. Yet four hundred and forty dollars came out of my pocket. So I am giving this place a negative review, not because of the service but because of the pricing. My daughter just moved into an apartment complex less than 2 weeks ago. I didn't realize that there was a place for me to park in visitor parking. That wasn't explained to me. I had been there taking care of my grandson because my daughter is a single mom. She just recently moved in and she needed a babysitter I wasn't feeling good and I ended up literally passing out falling asleep when she got home, because I was so sick. I know I shouldn't have been watching my grandson. At 5:20 in the morning my vehicle was towed. I walked out to go home and the car was missing. Travis and Corey were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure that my car was safely taken where I needed it to be. My car is low to the ground and Travis was very knowledgeable had no problem hooking my car up! If I ever need another tow, I'm getting Hooked Up!!
