Had a great car buying experience working with Randy McKnight at Hudiburg Ford in Wellston, OK. When it came time for another vehicle, I was not looking forward to the whole purchasing ordeal. Found the exact make and model of a used vehicle online at Hudiburg and went to check it out. Met Randy who was great to work with and allowed us the freedom to evaluate the vehicle without the typical high pressure sales tactics. The vehicle was in great condition and reasonably priced compared with similar models seen at other dealerships. I am giving this dealership a one-star rating due solely to my experience with the finance manager, Paul. His behavior was unprofessional, dismissive, and made what should have been a straightforward transaction extremely unpleasant. To begin with, there were multiple errors in the paperwork. We reached the final pages before having to point out an issue with the co-borrower’s signature. Although the mistake was his, his response was irritated and disrespectful. When the co-borrower signed in the incorrect location, he abruptly took the paperwork back as though we were at fault. Additionally, the financing terms were not honored as originally agreed. The ad valorem tax, which was supposed to be included in the loan, was not, meaning we were unexpectedly required to pay it out of pocket.

I had been working with this dealership for nearly a week on a Mach-E they had in stock. I was honestly surprised to see an EV available at a rural dealership. In my past experience shopping for EVs, many salespeople don’t seem particularly motivated to sell them, and follow-up can be minimal. I’ve also found that buyers often know more about the vehicle than the salesperson. One salesperson at a different dealership even told me they receive very little EV training.
