Immanuel: Lakeside

Lots of organizations tout how eco-friendly they are, but as the solid waste hauler for Lakeside, our company Hillside Solutions can vouch that they walk the talk. They have a robust recycling program, they are composting food waste from the kitchen, and the residents and staff are really engaged with it. I also spoke to Immanuel's inner-company green team, and they are doing lots of great things to reduce waste, reuse items when they can, and putting eco-friendly design aspects into new construction. This photos shows the dual-stream recycling program we have them enrolled in, which is a more sophisticated form of recycling that sees higher rates of recyclability. My mom is living at this facility now. It is a lovely place with kind caring staff. Right now during COVID times are difficult and they are doing their best to keep the residents safe and occupied in a safe manner. One big complaint we have though is the food. Since I originally published this I received a call from culinary services at Emanuel Health System. I was very impressed with the response we received and am confident that change will be made. Lakeside Village is a great place. Very clean, friendly and inviting. No wonder they've won "Best of Omaha" for 12 years in a row!

Beautiful facility. Residents are friendly and very loving! I wouldn't recommend a different place!
