​I travel extensively—logging at least 100,000 air miles a year—so I have dealt with countless rental car companies across the globe. Island Escapes Rental Cars is, without a doubt, the best I have ever rented from. The customer service here is simply amazing. They went above and beyond in ways that the big corporate chains never do. I honestly don't know what the people leaving 1-star reviews are talking about; frankly, they should be ashamed because this team is top-tier. I will be renting from them every single year I am here. If you are looking for a rental, save yourself the headache and book with them. You should too.

This was a fantastic experience. The business is locally and family owned. Everything was ready to go, both at check out and check in. Literally the fastest rental process ever! The vehicle was clean and in great condition. It was perfect for what we needed and the customer service was awesome. They were friendly and genuinely invested in helping to make our stay in Wrangell a good experience from the get go. Drop off was super fast and easy which I appreciated. And I was all too happy to oblige when my daughter asked if we could get some fudge from their cute little store. (So good!) Definitely recommend renting from this place.

I rented a car from there due to my vehicle being out of town for mechanic work and the customer service that was provided was very professional, clear, respectful and very friendly including her little one who was very well mannered and full of smiles! Everything was explained at the time of checkout with all questioned answered right away and no wait time. The vehicle was very clean and comfortable and in perfect condition all around. Very safe for my family. I will recommend these guys to anyone!

As someone who researches things thoughtfully before traveling, I love a good find! It’s always been my experience that the best places to patron are small locally & family owned establishments! There’s something special about getting to know the locals & feel personally welcomed into a place that I’m visiting. The Bookers (owners) are 100% the real deal authentic Alaskan entrepreneurs. Themselves raised right there on Wrangell island & married now raising their own large family in true Alaskan style. It’s quite the opportunity to have the inside scoop on all the places the locals like to go (and don’t lol). I’d take their word/advice any day ! As for how they run their business, it’s top notch. Everything in shape, well thought out & SAFE!! Considering they’re on and ISLAND in SE Alaska

We got stuck in town due to flight overbooking. Instead of gouging two broke travelers Dixie gave us a ride into town, gave us a tour and recommended the best meals! Thank you again! I highly recommend that you support this rental.
