Jakes auto took did the worst job ever and ripped me off! I had a bad coolant leak, a half gallon every 3 days. They told me i needed a radiator, I paid them 500 bucks,even though it didn't appear to be leaking from that area.......it's still continued to leak the same amount from the same spot. Then they charged me 250 for a water pump. After that I started pouring coolant from a hose they put on wrong..... that was my 3rd visit in under 2 weeks to fix there bad work......I drove it to wv and guess what it's poring coolant again! They are terrible mechanics and rip offs. 3 trips two major parts and still loosing coolant from the same area it started in. Great place. Like stepping back into time compared to your fancy-shmancy dealers. Car service the way it used to be. Granted, it may not have some of the tech needed for detail engine work and all the sensors and computer chips or your non-American cars. But for your meat and potatoes, and normal wear and tear stuff, this is a nostalgic alternative. Plus, you never know what you're going to see sitting around.

Corey, who bought the place from the namesake, is the kind of mechanic you hope to find when you are new to an area. I have used him for 17 years, and he has been honest, does great work, and never once have I had any sense of him trying to pull one over on me. When one of his apprentices has made a mistake in the past he always makes it right, and that has only been once in 17 years of maintaining our three vehicles. Highly recommend. He is busy so plan on a week or two before you can get in, but he is well worth it.
