Whether you are from the Quad Cites or visiting the area, I highly recommend getting out and riding the Channel Cat Water Taxi on the Mississippi River. There are 4 locations to catch the water taxi. We like John Deere Commons because parking is plentiful and generally fine at all other locations unless there is a major event in town. Get tickets online or pay cash. The prices are reasonable $8 for adults and $4 for children. Babies and toddlers 2 and under are free. Wheelchair accessible. Stop off to shop, get lunch or play the slots at the Casino. Stay on board to get great photos and feel the wind through your hair. Meet friendly locals or chat with out of towners along your journey. Watch river fowl, boats or enjoy the water views. It's an open stretch of land between the Tax Slayer center, a hotel and t.g.i. Friday. The waterfront has a landing for boats and the water taxi drop off spot. Not much scenery. Saw folks swimming in river on July 5 2019.
