If you need your car smogged and you live near Glen Ellen go to J+W. Call him first. He will tell you when you can come in and if it passes the smog test he will be very happy. If it doesn't pass he will figure out why and then fix it. He won't be happy about it but he fixed an issue in my old 2006 Saturn jalopy that no other mechanic was able to diagnose. And it passed. Be prepared for him to be annoyed with you if it doesn't pass and don't call him to ask when the car will be ready. As a NYer, none of this bothered me.
