Kearny Mesa Subaru Service

Would not recommend getting your vehicle serviced here due to both lack of transparency and inflated prices. When you have both, you’re left as a customer wondering what you even paid for and why you paid so much for it. I went in with multiple lights on my dash and was told multiple times, by multiple employees that it was a transmission issue and that all I needed to do was repair my transmission. Of course, like all auto shops, they try and upsell you for unrelated things, but when I left the lot after paying close to $3000 and, the lights still were on. I drove back later that day, only to get told that my issue was something completely separate from what I was told would “Take care of all of the lights”. They then tried to blame me and say I only reported one light on when it was like

I took my car in for service and now the sales department will not stop harassing me. Leave me alone! I also can’t get a clear answer about how much they charge for a service they’re recommending. I wish I had gone to a different location

Brought my car in due to lights on dash and they ran diagnostic that cost $199, told me they needed to order a part and I can bring the car back when the part is in which was supposed to be 3 days. They proceeded to never contact me again and would not return my calls. Since I had not yet paid the $199, I just took it to another dealership- Summit Subaru in El Cajon and they were amazing! Don’t bother with Kearny Mesa, they do not do what they say. Literally ghosted me.

Irresponsible and does terrible/dangerous work. They will break your car! I went in to do a recall on an engine part. They somehow managed to snap my exhaust pipe nearly completely off near the muffler. The exhaust started rattling like crazy banging against the undercarriage as soon the engine starts. They acted like they didn't notice when they returned the car. After I pointed it out to them, they blamed it on rust and tried to charge me to fix it (a part that they broke). When I asked if they could at least secure it so it's not rattling on my drive home or potentially fall off, they also refused. Overfilled my transmission by 5 quarts and almost killed my impreza. Friendly but inexperienced mechanics there will mess up your car. Also silicon reseal on my engine block was super sloppy. Now I have to refill my Transmission fluid now only after 5k miles because of the burnt oil. Expected better from a Subaru dealership. Also labor cost was ridiculous for screwing up my car.
