What a disaster of an experience with Kim's Auto Body in Sarasota... On a recommendation from a friend, I took my Porsche to have the hood and front fenders resprayed in the original color. There was no damage to repair needed it was simply a sand, prep and respray. I took the car apart (with the exception of the windshield washer nozzles, pop up headlights and the lower rocker panel trim pcs - 1 on each side), removed the front bumper cover. I was assured these parts would be removed prior to painting. I trailered the car bc of the parts I did remove, wasn't street worthy. Ultimately, it took 3 tries (that's right repainted 3 times!) for them to finally get it right. I picked up the car between the 1st and 2nd attempt. Insurance Handling / Unexpected Out-of-Pocket Cost My parked vehicle was hit, and the claim went through Progressive. The repair shop quoted approximately $11,000 to replace and paint the front bumper, even though my car’s total value was around $12,000. Despite the numbers, the insurance adjuster did not total the car. Near the end of the process, the shop failed to provide the correct documentation required by the insurance company to process the final payment. I rarely leave negative reviews and I saw someone else have the similar issue to what I went through but this experience was unacceptable. My car was clearly damaged need some work and this shop was supposed to work directly with the insurance. Instead, they failed to file the necessary paperwork and gave the insurance company the wrong documentation, which delayed everything and left me with no choice but to pay thousands out of pocket just to get my car back because I no longer trust to leave my car w/a untrustworthy company like that. Any time I asked for updates, they gave vague and inconsistent answers. The employees at the front desk were rude, defensive, and acted like answering basic questions was a burden. They even made an inappropriate personal comment to me and just completely
