Lafayette Square Senior Apartments

My mother in-law lived in Lafayette Sq for 2 years until we moved her to an assisted living facility just recently. She misses the friends she made at Lafayette, the residents were very accommodating and friendly and there were various social activities she could participate in incl. Sunday service and also invited guests to speak on varying topics. Management under Kristi was readily available and responsive to questions or issues or just to talk to and Paul in maintenance was there whenever needed. Thank you Lafayette Square.

My father lived there from May until October. He passed in October and did not have an estate. We cleaned out the apartment, left it as it was found - got the check and was unable to cash it because it was made out to the estate. In PA, you do not need have an estate. Contacted the main office, the district manager got back to me and said he would get back to me about getting it under Dad's name instead of the estate. That was in November. It's now the end of the year. No answer back from the district manager, no call back from the home office. If you are family and do not have an estate established - you will get a check you can not cash. They are unwilling to help you. They don't care.

My 90 year old mother lives here. The apartments are beautiful and the common areas are well maintained. There are a lot of friendly tenants to mingle with and get to know. She loves it here and has made many friends. My only problem is the large price increases in rent. These are senior citizens on a fixed income. They have been told that the next lease renewal will have a $200 increase per month. In my mothers case, that will leave her less than $300 to live on per month. This is Oakdale not New York City or LA.

I have lived at these apartments for two years now. Best move I ever made. I have a two bedroom apartment that is very roomy and updated. Balcony is big enough to sit outside on warm days and enjoy a good book. The sun shines throughout the apartment which makes it a bright and cheerful place to live. I have met many very friendly neighbors here. I fill up my days by joining them in Bingo, Bunco, card games and many other activities. The office and maintenance staff are both helpful and efficient. The library, fitness center, activity area and main lobby are always well kept. The building location is absolutely perfect for shopping and restaurants in the Robinson area.

The most important Thing about living in An apartment complex is management And this place has the best. Barb listens to all of your concerns and does her best to resolve any issues we might have. Maintenance is quick to respond and courteous and the place is always clean. Great place to live !
