Id like to share a very specific situation Which i believe is critical to diagnostics and intimate knowledge of transmission service, repair and the ultimate head ache ...(we perceive ). This is regarding a 2021 chevy express 3500 with a 6L90 model transmission But could easily apply to other vehicles This van has 63 k miles We have changed the fluid anf filter twice And tried to add a deeper aftermarket pan to allow for more fluid to assist the tranny. Nearly immediately we lost all forewarf gears No problem with reverse Multiple tows Multiple further flushing Another filter Changing the filter gasket Which ..is a pain And it would randomly drive Then Not In one of the periods of driving We had it evaluated by a MECHANICAL SHOP THAT ...listed itself as Doing transmissions They did n

I went to Larry Morton as a last resort to my car going to the junk yard with theoretically costly transmission issues. Hoping they would have a less costly fix than a financially illogical rebuilt tranny install. They diagnosed my issue and told me the issue wasn't my transmission, it was my wheel bearing. A good friend referred me to Larry Morton's to diagnose a vibration that I thought was coming from the transmission. Took my car there and Jason took it for a test drive, asked a bunch of questions and REALLY listened. He didn't jump to any conclusions and wasn't quick to point to any of my mods. Hunted for the problem for close to an HOUR up on the lift, even running it without the driveshaft. Inspected the CV joints and u-joints. Jason was a real class act. In the end, he came to the conclusion the transmission isn't the cause of the vibration after all. He sent me on my way and didn't even charge me for the help.
