I got a rebuilt 4L80E from them a few weeks ago. Git it installed and test drove it, no 4th gear. Figured it might something on end because , you know, rebuilt transmission, nothing should be wrong with it. Swapped the speed sensors and still no 4th gear. Checked everything I could think of and it all looked good. Searched on YouTube for some answers and I found a guy with my same issue. Pulled the internal wiring harness plug out and it was soaked in transmission fluid. Just got the pan dropped and pulled the internal wiring harness out and what do I find? It was filled with sealant inside and out. Spoiler alert, it didn't seal. So now I have a new one on order to hopefully fix what these jokers obviously couldn't. $25 part on amazon. So I have a 69 el camino I put a 5.3 engine in the car. My plan was to put a modern 4l80e 4 speed overdrive transmission in. I did my research to see what was needed for my application. Bought the correct crossmember to adapt a 4l80e in my car. Went with a specific tcm,( transmission control module) that was also recommended by the car community. Larrys was recommended by a friends friend so I called them and told them what I was wanting to do. They said they had swapped 4l80e's into multiple old cars no problem. I asked if they were familiar with the tcm, US shift quick4, I had and if they could program it. They said that was no issue. I also asked if they would be able to make the shift linkage work. My husband had a duramax needed transmission rebuilt from last year of August 2024, they had it two weeks said it was fixed so we drove it home (mind you we are 2 hours away) made it halfway called them told them, chris came picked it up said he fixed the problem. We picked it up & no. Fast forward to this year since it’s under “warranty” we took it back got it fixed 2 months later & still has to pay money. Now my brother has took his truck to them twice as well with a ford powerstroke since they said under warranty. After keeping the truck another 2 months the dad calls him cusses him out saying they aren’t pulling the transmission that he needs to come pull it, after 2 months of having it.
