Les Schwab Tire Center

Today I went in to Les Schwab (Meridian-McMillan) for a brake check/estimate and wiper blades. Thomas greeted me and listened as I explained that my brakes were beginning to make noise, needed to be checked, and most like replaced. Approximately 15 minutes later, Thomas said the brakes were fine and didn’t need to be replaced yet. He showed me on his brake measuring tool where my brakes aligned and gave me a detailed explanation as to when they require replacement, which I truly appreciated. Thomas recommended tire rotation as my front tires were wearing out faster than the rear, which was done. I replaced my wipers and after all is said and done, was only charged for the wiper blades. Lon saved the day last Tuesday! I popped a tire on my morning commute and Les Schwab happened to be at the next stop light. It was 7:30 and shop opens at 8:00 but the lights were on, door was open and Lon welcomed me in. Amazingly was back on the road by 8:15! Thank you so, so much for taking good care of me and my car!!

*** HUGE kudos to Jeremy****** Woke up to a completely flat tire on my car no thanks to a giant nail. I filled it up with an air compressor and went straight to Les Schwab on McMillan and 10 mile because it’s close(ish) to my work. It was about 8:10 and I had a patient scheduled for 8:30 with patients every half hour so if you get behind it can be difficult to catch up. I was panicking to see if someone at work could come pick me up so I wouldn’t have to keep my first patient waiting and Jeremy told me if I could give him 10 minutes he could get the tire done. He was done with my tire by 8:20 and I was still able to make it to work on time. I was so incredibly grateful and so was my patient (who was also going to work right after our appointment). If only every business was this honest and truly service-oriented! This is an odd review because I ended up giving my business to Discount Tire. I did so because Les Schwab was looking out for me — and saved me hundreds of dollars. Erik (one of Les Schwab’s top pier service representatives) saw that they didn’t have the brand for the 1 tire that needed to be replaced and told me to see if Discount had the correct brand (which they did). Erik and Les Schwab didn’t get my business this time, but I will definitely keep them in mind for future services needed and highly encourage you to do the same.

Small acts of service can lead to bigger opportunities later... This is something I would like to encourage the staff at Les Schwab to understand. I stopped by to see if I could quickly get a small 13" hand-truck wheel repaired. While there were very kind, professional, and had the tire, and I was willing to pay twice the cost of repair vs a new one, but they couldn't do it right away it was going to take 2+ hours. Thus I am not at a store that sells new ones 20 minutes away, paying half the cost but would have rather had the time back. While I'm sure they are an excellent choice for tire replacements, this experience does not inspire me to ever return to a Les Schwab for any type of service.
