Despite being short-staffed, they accommodated me the same day. Dave quickly assessed that the check engine light was likely triggered by my recent drive through deep water during a storm. He reset the light, allowing me to pass my mandatory smog check. For the headlight, he identified a burnt-out wire, showed it to me, and then displayed the quality replacement. Complete transparency. Rather than going for a $100 dealership part, Dave sourced a $30 equivalent and installed it. My total cost? A reasonable $145 for parts and labor. The car was ready the next day. Lou's Automotive is the ONLY shop I trust to work on my cars. Lou and David are two of the nicest and most decent people you will ever meet. Their work sets the bar for every other mechanic in the Coachella Valley. They do excellent work, always stand behind their work and treat their customers with respect. I've had a lot of older cars that needed lots of repairs and tried many mechanics before finding Lou. He is simply the best. His prices are reasonable and he would NEVER run up the bill or recommend an unnecessary repair. Both Lou and David are hopelessly honest and ethical. This is the place to get your car repaired or maintained. Go see Lou and you won't be blue. 😀👍

This guy is great! So I took my brand new car to the dealership that I purchased it at for it's 15,000 mile maintenance check and there was a squeaking noise that I inquired about and so they checked it out for me and came back to me telling me that my brakes and rotors were both shot out and I needed to replace them both well I couldn't afford that at the moment so I told them no well I just brought my car into lou's automotive and he let me know that my brakes and rotors were still practically brand new and they were just installed incorrectly and so he fixed it all up for me no more squeaking and I didn't have to pay for something I totally did not even need I couldnt believe it thank you so much!! I would definitely recommend taking your vehicle here he is honest and very reasonable!!

I moved to Cathedral City about a year ago. Was looking for a great shop that knew what they were doing as I have a couple of classics and "others". Went to Lou last week with my GTO. They fixed it within 2 hours, gave me suggestions of other reputable specialty shops for specialty work and were very reasonable. Lou and David really know what the automobiles, they are polite, and very fair. Bring some treats for the dog...sweet baby. This is a great area to have work done on your car. Safe, plenty of parking, and many detail, interior, body shops close by.

We bought a house in Cathedral City last summer. We found Lou's on the recommendation of a friend. We find ourselves very fortunate as it is rare to find a mechanic you are able to trust completely. Lou is an honest man and does great work for a reasonable cost. He so reminds me of my father who was an honest mechanic/bodyshop man his entire life. I would send anyone I know to Lou with the utmost confidence that they would also be completely happy.
