Low Cost Auto Repair

From start to finish, low-cost auto repair made me extremely comfortable. Came from Firestone with kind of a horror story - Firestone told me I needed brakes and rotors for a grinding on my front wheel. I emphasized with them that I wasn't looking to do any preventative care, and I couldn't afford any additional maintenance right now, I only wanted to repair the grinding I was hearing. I paid for these repairs, and the noise was still present upon pickup. Firestone then quoted me $1600 for repair AFTER paying for the brakes and rotors, now claiming it was my bearings, after initially claiming the brakes and rotors were my main issue. I had a great first impression at Low Cost Auto Repair in Lansing. Eric and Alex were both friendly, honest, and very knowledgeable. Even though I’ve only received a quote so far, Eric took the time to clearly explain what was going on with my car, why I was hearing certain noises, and what potential future repairs I should keep in mind. I’m getting one more quote, and they offered to match or beat it, which I really appreciated. Overall, great vibe and a place that genuinely seems to care about being upfront with customers. Low cost is most under handed, least qualified repair shop in the city. If you take you vehicle there for anything other than an oil change and you have to trust their word and estimate you may well have a 5 yr old fix your car. I was fleeced for over $4,000 by them doing unnecessary work and not fixing my engiine or returning my catalytic converters they replaced unnecessarily, I may add. Then after picking my truck up for the fifth time, it just dies completely. It wouldn't start and I couldn't even put it in neutral. I had to have it towed to my house. I am currently in the process of suing these crooks and I suggest that you NEVER take a vehicle there for any reason what so ever

Great experience. I was stranded with a flat tire and Low Cost Auto got me back on the road quickly and at a great price! They do all my oil changes and up keep as well.
