Maple Knoll Village

In 2020, my Aunt was living at Bodman in their long term care section. She was on the 2nd floor, and was happy there. Her son visited her every morning and every evening. English was her 2nd language and she had a hearing impairment. You had to shout to be heard. When the shut down occurred, there seemed to be no way for her to communicate with her son. Being on the 2nd floor, he couldn't be heard through a window. The phone was not an option either, because of her hearing. A caring Aide took it upon herself to bring in a laptop. She would Facetime with my cousin and my Aunt and if need be, she would shout the conversation to my Aunt. It took love, ingenuity and patience, but they found a solution.

Disappointing Admissions Experience and Poor Follow-Up My experience with the Bodmann Pavilion admissions team has been below poor. Follow-up on calls and emails was minimal, and even when I did get a response, it felt dismissive — as though my efforts to secure care for my dad were an inconvenience rather than a priority. For a facility with such a long-standing reputation, I expected more compassion, consistency, and professionalism in their communication. Instead, I was left feeling like I was harassing them just for trying to get my questions answered. Families deserve better responsiveness during what is already a stressful process.

I moved into Maple Knoll about 10 days ago. Everyone I meet is kind and friendly. My favorite things to do are to exercise in the wellness center, water aerobics and chair yoga. My son and I had a very delicious meal in the cafe the cafe is bright. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My apartment is lovely with high ceilings and a large kitchen. There is a large partially covered balcony off the living room.

My grandma moved here right before covid hit, maybe 2019, and it's been great for her. She loves the facilities, and the staff is all so friendly. She started out in assisted living and moved to individual housing later, and she has her own little apartment that's right next to the dining hall. It's really walkable, and the different levels of care have all been so accommodating of her. We love it here, big shout out to the workers at the Bistro, they always make our visits special, lots of good food there too.
