I had an appointment with the Bureau of Automotive Repair Smog Referee in the building where students work on automobile repairs, plus they learn everything there is to know about smogging vehicles. I needed to have a smog inspection and certificate for my car this year, but it didn't pass smog. I wasn't sure if I could afford to pay for the work that needed to be done on my car in order to get the "check engine" light to go off. After contacting the Bureau of Automotive Repair people, I was told that I needed to apply for assistance from the Consumer Assistance Program (CAP). After applying, I received a Letter of Eligibility for Repair Assistance.
