Modesto Engine Re-Nu

In past years, when I dealt directly with Leonard, I would have given them a five star rating for the dozens of jobs they did for me. I don’t know if they’ve changed ownership or what, I am totally displeased at the work they did on an engine head and intake exhaust manifold for my antique car. When I got the Intake and exhaust manifold Combination home, the surfacing job was atrocious. There was a 32 Thousands difference from one into another. I called them up and they said bring it back. They’ll make it right. I took it back. They redid it. I got it home and it was surfaced so poorly and so crooked that I can’t even properly install it back on my car. I already took it back once so they could make it right. When I called back, they did nothing but ask my name. The man said he would check

Double check their work!!! Had a Subaru head bolt that broke during install and while they did remove it quickly, they didn't ensure the block threads were okay. After returning it for them to fix they charged me 100 bucks just to chase the stock bolt back and forth because they didn't have a tap. Since that didn't fix it, I brought it back once again because it pulled the threads right out after the employee said it was fine. After 2 weeks of back and forth they finally got it right. In my opinion, the supervisor needs to check all their employees work due to quality control issues. Don't think I'll ever be going back with this half ass workmanship

These guys did a very poor job assembling my engine short block. Had to take it back twice. First time they put the pistons in incorrectly with the valve reliefs turned the wrong way in the cylinder. The second time they put the wrong sized bearings on the crankshaft causing low oil pressure. Although they fixed the problems each time, the mistakes that were made was like an apprentice put the engine together without supervision. It still has lower than usual oil pressure but I'm tired of dealing with it and am just gonna run it until it scatters.

Great job by Leonard and the crew at Engine Re-Nu. Had my Ford FE 360 rebuilt and they did an excellent job! Fast, knowledgeable service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended for those needing expertise in FE rebuilds.
