Pat is fantastic and is always honest about what needs to be repaired right away for safety and what can wait until our budget allows. Nelson’s is the ONLY place I go to get my car fixed or tuned up. The owner, Pat, is very honest and is very knowledgeable. He gives you all the information and options. He knows it can be expensive and really works with you and does not compromise quality. Pat is old Naperville. I only trust Nelson’s for my car needs. 100/10 recommend!

Nelson’s is the only shop that I take my car to. They do a great job of identifying issues before they become problems, and leave it to you to decide if you want to take care of it now or later. When I took my car in for an oil change a couple years ago, they found a small exhaust leak, which I opted to defer work on. Recently, that small leak turned into a big leak. When I took it in, owner Pat said they could fix the leak by replacing the flex pipe alone. He added that there was significant corrosion in the rest of the exhaust system such that it might last another year or two before needing replacement. So depending on how long I expected to keep the car, he could do the short-term fix or the longer-term fix. I also like that they do not upsell by offering dubious services like engine f
