used to be a good place, I always took my cars there. Now it seems like they have hidden fees. felt ripped off. Shop around.

Only posting three stars because I had a good experience two years ago but I really can’t believe this just happened. I called to get pricing and was told $60. I said that was more than I wanted to spend and that I had seen other deals online for $30 but their location was closest to me. At that point I was told if I came in 15 minutes they would price match $30. I say great and dash over dropping everything else I was doing only to arrive and be pointed to their price sign and told price is $60 - only retest fee is $30. I have no qualms about their pricing. If you want to charge $60, please do - but I clearly said on the phone I wasn’t interested in paying that much as I saw a better deal and to have me come in only to change your mind in person is really not cool. Another great experience at OB Smog! I arrived about 15 minutes before closing and he still took care of me, even though he was helping someone ahead of me. I just had to wait about 15 minutes until it was my turn. So I was in and out in about a half hour. The owner (I assume he's the owner because he's always there) is very nice and professional. He submitted my test online so I can complete my registration renewal online, easy peasy! They also have the COVID situation all figured out. He was very clear in his instructions and I felt totally safe while there.

Amazing group of folks! Took my Jeep there for a smog test, pulled it in, shut it off, and of course it wouldn’t start back up. They helped me check the battery, push it to a safe space in their lot (where they told me I could leave it for as long as I needed), and even crawled under it with me knocking on the starter. They didn’t need to do any of that but were legit concerned and invested in helping me out. Smog check would have been super quick otherwise. I watched a guy get his done in a few minutes while I was scratching my head wondering what to do.
