Oak Hammock at the University of Florida

One month ago today my Mom entered Oak Hammock Rehabilitation Center from a hospital where she spent ten days in bed. She arrived in pain, in a hospital gown, barely able to move, with abjectly neglected feet and legs. It required two people and a Hoya lift to get Mom out of bed. Today, my Mom, who was told for five months that she'll need 24-hour round-the-clock care or to live in a skilled nursing facility, has been accepted into assisted living! She can move herself in a wheelchair and walk 20 - 35 ft with a rolling walker. She only needs assistance from one person to transfer to or from a wheelchair. This is amazing. She spent two months in another five-star rehab and never got this far! Everyday Oak Hammock staff got my Mom out of bed, dressed, in her wheelchair, to the dining room

Skilled Nursing Rehab for after hospital care. After 23 days flat with pneumonia was time to relearn everything! They are the Best. Great private room Amazing Food. Incredible staff. Activities & exercises every day different—fun & tough to start with … If they want you to go Do!

My mother had to be place in rehab two separate times which both times she and us siblings chose Oaks Hammock. The staff and nurses are absolutely amazing. The care they provided for my mother was the BEST care she could have gotten. I have always said if and when the time comes I would want to be at this rehab facility. My mother is deceased now but at the time she didn’t even want to come home. I would recommend this rehab facility to anybody and everybody I know. They are the best All I can say is thank you all for your care and rehabilitation they gave my mother the two times she was there. She loved each and everyone of ya. Thank you for your care and dedication.

I've lived here since 2 months after Oak Hammock opened in 2004. My wife has spent time in all four levels of care. The staff is competent and caring. Activities abound, even despite the pandemic (though not always in person). Dining service is topnotch. The variety of interest groups is amazing. I have visited other CCRCs and this is the right one! Two thumbs up!

We are brand new residents of Oak Hammock and found everyone we encountered during the various stages to be friendly and helpful. One of the most noticeable things has been the attitude of the Oak Hammock residents and staff. There's always a smile and hello. From staff that's accompanied with a willingness to answer questions or offer assistance. . We can't wait to get everything moved in and settled so we can begin to enjoy the outstanding array of activities available.
