Omaha Japanese Auto Repair

We recently moved to Omaha and, by chance, struck up a conversation with a stranger named Barney in the parking lot of a local Walmart. He inquired how we liked our Honda CR-V, and, as luck would have it, he then told us, newcomers, that there's only one place to have it serviced. This led to an endorsement for "Omaha Japanese Auto Repair" and to ask for John (the owner) when we arrive. Well, we just finished our first visit for an oil change and a couple of other maintenance concerns...and WOW, were we impressed. I've been around for a while, and this was genuine old-fashioned service and care that you can hardly find anymore. So, I'm writing this review as a "pay it forward" ... comment. My 2014 Honda Pilot recently broke down, leaving this busy mother of three without a car. My check engine light had come on several weeks earlier, and I had already contacted the dealership for maintenance. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get me in until October 3—and when my car finally broke down, they were unwilling to help me in any way. I have gone to Omaha Japanese Auto Repair since we bought our Odyssey in 2016. John is always straightforward about what needs to be repaired and accurate with his pricing. We love this place so much as we know John is always honest about what's going. We just purchased another vehicle and we had to stay with Honda as we didn't want to find another mechanic. Good mechanics are hard to come by. Thank you John for your amazing integrity.

Honest & reliable So Honest. John replaced my water pump in 2023 as part of a major service visit. He could have ignored the new (small) leak until the warranty on that part expired soon, but he brought it to my attention and replaced it under warranty. He is willing to communicate via text message & email during the workday so we can get updates & make decisions without extra phone calls at work. I really appreciate the time and money he has put into his invoice and record system; it makes it easier to follow and understand what has been done or needs to be done.
