I’ve been going into auto parts stores my entire life, I do nearly all my own work. Today I needed rear calipers and rotors along with bolts and brake pads, a roughly $450 purchase. I enter the store and see an older and a younger guy behind the counter both staring at the computer, nobody makes eye contact with me. I came to the counter and said “how’s it going tonight, guys?”. They both completely ignore me, didn’t even acknowledge my presence in their store or a make so much as a moment of eye contact. I waited 3 or 4 seconds and then turned around and left, drove 1/4 mile up the road to autozone and was at least given the usual lukewarm interaction, which is completely expected and normal for all retail these days.
