Payless Car Rental

If it was possible to give ZERO stars, that would be my rating. Starting with rental pickup, there was 1 person covering multiple rental companies at the counter. I was not given a contract to keep in car during rental. Instead, I was handed a form with barely legible numbers and told to go pick up vehicle in that area - "a Dodge Hornet with keys in it". Absolutely no assistance in that area. No briefing on car whatsoever. And no time/date stamp anywhere to know that I am not charged for late return. As I was leaving garage, I was told that I did not have the correct vehicle. A little assistance at pick up area would've been helpful! Guy at gate changed vehicle to the one that I was driving. Out on the road, vehicle was so filthy that I couldn't see in side mirrors to change lanes. Windshi

Would give 0 stars. Got in the car, key was lost, car smelled like smoke and windows were down as if they were airing it out. Gas cap was broken off. I had no time to ask for a different car. Charged me $450 for a cleaning fee. Customer service rep told me that they charged me for smoking smells and is telling me that the car was brand new. I don’t know what type of unprofessional scam they are running over there but this will be dealt with.

FRAUD! SCAM! Made a reservation through Priceline. The guy at the counter assured me there were no extra charges when I questioned why there were optional charges it wanted me to sign for. He explicitly told me those were already included in my reservation and to not worry. Well, shocker, guess what appeared on my credit card as an added charge later. Do not use this company!

They rented me a car with expired tags which got me pulled over by police and car towed. From there i had to drive an hour further from my destination to obtain new car. I missed the first day of my music festival and received a ticket and towing fees and Payless will not refund my money

The car smelled disgusting, I returned it the next day, their customer service promised me a partial refund over the phone, then after I returned the car their desk denied my refund
