Payless Car Rental

I had a very disappointing experience with Claude Roy during the pickup of my rental car. From the moment I arrived, the interaction felt rushed and unprofessional. There was little to no courtesy, and basic customer service standards—like clear communication and a welcoming attitude—were noticeably absent. I had a few reasonable questions about the vehicle and the rental terms, but instead of taking the time to explain things properly, Claude seemed impatient and dismissive. It left me feeling like I was inconveniencing him simply by being there. When you’re picking up a rental car, especially after traveling, the last thing you want is to feel uncomfortable or brushed off. He is not professional at all. I've rented cars more than 100 times. The people at the counter were below average but not terrible. The man checking out cars at the booth, in the parking area, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He had long fingernails that had dirt under them. It was quite disgusting. Incredibly, my experience got even worse. I rented a car at 2:34 PM and returned it at the end of my rental at 2:58 PM. I was charged $15 for the extra hour and then $20 as a late fee. This was on a car that was $40 per day. Charges like this are despicable. Avis recently purchased Payless and I will never rent from either again. As a side note, I've had great experience with Enterprise car rental at FLL. Many Car Rental companies have joined and there are less choices but there are still choices I will never choose A

On January 8th,2025 , I had the worst customer experience of my life. After waiting 3–4 hours for a 9 PM flight on January 7th, which was eventually canceled by Flair Airlines (which I will write a separate review for), I had to find a hotel for my 82-year-old father, my mother, and myself. My father has multiple health issues, including incontinence, Parkinson’s, and thyroid problems. All his clothes were dirty, and he had no access to his more medication, because we were supposed to fly home that night. We later received an email from the airline informing us that the flight had been rescheduled four days later, on January 11th. With all this uncertainty, I thought the best course of action was to rent a car so that I could go to a nearby laundromat, buy diapers and food for my father,

Worse company out there. PLEASE AVOID. As I’m sitting here in the lobby waiting for my car, after having to pay extra than I was told. There are at least 5 customers pissed at the service. Horrible customer service, old cars with issues, dirty and damaged… This place is a hot mess!!! Again AVOID AVOID AVOID. Don’t let the name fool you. You will “PAYMORE” plus all headache and crappy service!

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST !! THEY DONT ACCEPT AMEX CAUSE THEY KNOW AMEX COVERS RENTALS . THEY MAKE YOU BUY AUTO INSURANCE AT A CRAZY PRICE . GUY TOLD ME CAR HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS . IT WAS ONLY HALF FULL . I RETURNED IT HALF FULL & STILL HAD TO PAY EVEN THO I TOOK A PICTURE OF THE CAR HALF FULL . TIME & DATE RECORDED . THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS WORST. VAN DRIVER WAS NASTY AS HELL . EVEN AFTER I TIPPED HIM ...IM TELLING YOU AS 16 YR VETERAN STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE . OH THEY RENTED ME A CAMERY DENTED IN FROM I PAID ALMOST $70 A DAY FOR A CAR THAT HAD AN ACCIDENT ON FRONT END . SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!! THEY GET U MILES FROM AIRPORT SO UR STUCK AND HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR . THE LOT IS LIKE A JUNK YARD
