Payless Car Rental

Please avoid!!! Listen to the 1 star reviews!! We didnt check ahead of time. First of all, customer service at the location is 0/10. Payless gave us a very hard time for the rental even after we prepaid 250 ahead of time. The only reason we got our vehicle was because the lady was tired and in a hurry to go home. Once we left on our trip, we called to extended the rental another day. When we returned the car we found out that we were charged over 500 for that single additional day only. Our total came out to over 750 for 2 days. The customer service reps on phone were absolutely horrible and did not want to explain the charges and we can barely understand what they are saying with their heavy accents. Shame on you guys.

I'm not one to write bad reviews, but my experience with what was supposed to be a one-day rental at the Fresno airport Payless location for a quick business trip has been so outrageous it's a borderline civic duty to warn others. Pickup went fine, and when I returned my car less than 24 hours later (on time and fueled up), staff said they'd email my receipt. Pleasant staff, convenient location, good-enough car. A good, if unremarkable, experience, right? Wrong. Oh so wrong. Three days later I still didn't have that receipt, but I did receive a text saying the car hadn't been returned and asking if I wanted to further extend the reservation. Sneered with a coworker to say I'm getting a Kia forte. So what? im paying $28 total per day so I don't have to drive my luxury car. Gave me a car with lots of dings and scratches BEFORE YOU PICK UP YOUR CAR MAKE THEM GO OVER WHERE THERE IS DOCUMENTED DAMAGE. Then throughly inspect and video your car before you drive off. This is the type of place to pull the rug on you thru pure incompetence.

If you’re reading this Don’t do it. We reserve the vehicle for a week in advance and then we were denied the vehicle once we got there 🤦🏽‍♂️

I reserved a fuel-efficient car, but I was given a dirty car instead. The seat belt had some red sticky substance on it and there were stains on the seat. The car was not washed. I was charged over $100 for using only half of the gas tank. There was a long waiting line and there was only one check-in person available. Overall, I had a bad experience and I will definitely not use their service again.
