Payless Car Rental

I must’ve gone on a good day… They did drop me off at Avis because Payless is closed so don’t be confused. I got a free upgrade to a bigger nicer car. I had no issues checking in or picking up the car. I was in and out in under 20 minutes. I did have to call a week later and close out the account as I kept getting a text message saying I didn’t return the car, but that was not an issue. They closed it out for me no additional charges. I would definitely use this place again.

This car rental service is a joke. Rented through Southwest vacations. Quoted a price of $189.98 and ended up paying $487.54. The counter agent in Tampa did not provide the car for my reservation. He said he was giving me a free upgrade. Said if I went under 75 miles I would not have to pay another fee. Went 30 miles. Took a picture of mileage before and after. Said I would have to pay $164 for insurance enough though I provided insurance. Total scam. Rented a car from anyone but them. Horrible experience.

Worst car rental in tampa. First at the airport there's no specific payless desk, you need to line up with customer service at budget, so keep in mind that for you to receive your vehicle will take over 2 hours. They gave us the vehicle with windshield wiper damaged and ac vent broken. Windshield scratches the glass. Spent over 50 minutes waiting in phone call to speak with customer service representative and she didn't want to help. Saving a couple of bucks end up being a nightmare. Go with sixt used them before at tampa airport never an issue.

Book with a different company! I wish I knew sooner. When we originally booked we were flying into Miami. When our flights were changed we flew into Tampa. I had to cancel and rebook bc they didn’t offer a modification. They charged me a $50 cancellation fee even though I switched from one location to another. We get to their booth only to see a sign that says closed, go to budget. Their service desk is a waiting area for all the other car rental companies. A 2 hr wait for a rental car with a company that doesn’t have anyone to assist. This company is a joke!

If i could give them a negative star, I would give them -5. Worst car rental company in the world. I have traveled and rented cars in many states and airports before and never had a horrible experience like i did with this place. The boys are rude and disrespectful and if you don't give them a tip when they give you a ride (I didn't because I didn't know this was outside of the airport and I didn't have cash on me) they would throw your luggage on the ground and not even say hi to you or make eye contact. The boy in the front desk is super rude and doesn't even say hi or communicate instead as I walked in the first thing I noticed was he was just sighing the whole time. They are two Mexican boys that talk in their own language and play their radio station in Mexican and have no respect tha
