Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

I went with my father as he is in a wheelchair so needed my help to get in. Was told it would take 1.5 to 2 hours. Gave the benefit of the doubt and figured it would take even longer. But it ended up taking a little over 4 hours. No apology or any updates along the way from Vladimir the person working there. He was lazy, not professional or even clean looking for that matter. I mean you think when something took twice as long as expected he would have at least apologized, or check into the shop to see how much longer. But no, just sat there playing on his phone the entire time. When we got home noticed a dent in the rear, with scuff marks. When called to ask about this he provided no assistance or sympathy. Didn't even know how to contact corporate to discuss this matter further. I'm sure

Called to find out if my tires had insurance. Person put me on hold indefinitely. Said she needed the mechanic to let me know . This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve had a problem with tires from Pep-boys. 1st time the tire radial opened on the highway after a few months. Then another tire had a bubble on the side wall, now the tires seem to be breaking apart. They must sell old tires after warranty. Can’t be that I’m 3 for 3, all from Pep-boys. Only reason I return is b/c I have the insurance on the tires. 22 minutes, still on hold to get a simple answer, ridiculous. I called the Sarasota Bee Ridge location.

Unfortunately I got a flat tire today, but I was fortunate enough to stop right next to this shop. The guys at the shop were kind, and beyond helpful in getting my tire filled up and back on the rim at no charge. I couldn't be more grateful they were able to get me and my son back on the road quickly. 10/10 highly recommend!!!

Overall I’m impressed on prices and how kind everyone is. The guy who worked at the front counter was amazing! He was able to juggle phone calls updates with live customers and communication with the mechanics all with a great attitude!

I called the shop for an appointment on Sunday, August 24. I think I got sent to an answering service in the Philippines. My first clue that this was BS should’ve been the eight minute time it took to make the appointment. However, they did made an appointment for me. Google had their hours is being open on Sunday. However, when I got here the shop is closed. Definitely not a happy camper.
