Practical Auto Care

I lived in this neighborhood for about four years, and Practical Auto Care has always been my #1 choice! I recently moved to the Katy area, so I hadn’t been here for a while. A couple of weeks ago, my check engine light came on. I took my car to another shop, and they told me it could be the sensor or thermostat, and that I needed to replace both — the estimate was $1,300! That didn’t make sense to me, so I decided to come back to Practical Auto Care as my trusted shop. They quickly diagnosed the problem — it was just the thermostat — and fixed it for $227. My car has been running perfectly ever since. These guys truly run their business with honesty, dignity, and professionalism. This isn’t my first great experience with them — they also did excellent work on my A/C and general repairs

Awesome Staff! Love the guy at the front desk excellent customer service! These guys are so polite. I just had my oil changed and the price was right just as he stated. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the Memorial Area needing automotive service. They even offer $5.00 off for a Google Review! I didn't take advantage of that because the service was so great! After getting 3 quotes on my vehicle problem (valve covered gaskets), I decided to take it to Practical Auto Care. I don't know why I didn't take it there first, I live in the neighborhood, but I wasn't in the area at the time and the quotes I got were because family/friends recommended those places. Anyway, out of all 3 quotes, I thought PAC was by far the best quote. They honored their quote, got the job done in less time than the other 3 auto shops had predicted; all in one day and in 3 hours (and this was a big job). I would not recommend buying your parts yourself. If you insist on doing that, at least check with them first and see what they say. I came here early on a Saturday morning to get someone to look at my engine and do repairs because they’re close and they got good reviews. I’ve never been here before first of all when I wanted the guy to check my engine he tried to charge me $100 for a diagnosis report when you could get that done for free at AutoZone and which I showed him the report from AutoZone so that right there seems shady that he was trying to charge me for that then he tried to charge $600 just for a tuneup which is absolutely ridiculous. Took my car and my business elsewhere!

My vehicle was driving rough and making noise. I brought it here. They diagnosed it and gave me a quote and timeline to repair. I thought the price and time was reasonable and agreed. They had the vehicle ready on the agreed upon date and time and I was charged the agreed upon price. My vehicle runs fine now. Smooth and clear transaction and communication.
