We are on a long journey across this beautiful country on our 2008 Harley Softail custom. After starting out this morning, we were in the middle of nowhere in east central Florida and starting having problems with the clutch disengaging when depressing the clutch lever. I checked the tension and looked the clutch cable adjustment, etc. While trying to shift and force the transmission into neutral, my wife looks over my should and said should the cable you're working on bow out when you squeeze the handle. Strangest thingbI've seen on a bike, but the clutch cable had a crack from a few inches from the lever down about a foot.
