Richmond Auto Repair

My family has been taking our cars here for as long as I can remember. I played in their children’s waiting room area and read the comic books there as a kid. A welcoming, relaxing, homey space. Now I bring my car and Doug remembers me every time as my mother’s daughter. A treasure of a man.

After three shops in Cape Cod told us to junk our 2007 Honda Pilot due to a supposed transmission leak, we decided to get one more opinion—and towed it 168 miles to Richmond Auto Repair on my brother’s recommendation. Doug quickly diagnosed the issue wasn’t the transmission at all. Using a dye test (which no one else had done), he found the location of the leak and fixed it for a fraction of the cost we were quoted elsewhere. We were blown away by his honesty, skill, and thoroughness. I’d make that drive again in a heartbeat. If you’re lucky enough to find your way to Doug, you won’t be disappointed. I just hope he never retires!

If ever there was someone on Earth that I would call a saviour, it is Mr. Doug Richmond. There isn't another business in town that I have frequented so much they are sick of seeing me (my vehicle at least). This place is fair, at times I had been frustrated because I had money to do things, but he wouldn't do the work because it wasn't necessary; and then there are these times, now, where I am financially embarrassed and have to plan my repairs in order of importance and ability to pay. He hasn't steered me wrong, he has been the most patient person when I have to leave my vehicle until I have money to pay for it. He is the most humble person I have ever met. This guy is a gentleman and a humanitarian of the highest order. I had a small but urgent situation with my drive shaft. He fixed me up in no time even though they were busy and I wasn't a regular customer, and they charged me such a low price that they were basically doing me a favor even though they knew I was desperate and would have paid a lot more. Wouldn't accept another dime when I offered. I can't recommend them enough. I'm a customer for life!

Very knowledgeable and accommodating. My Volvo was running very badly. They quickly identified a “cracked coil” and replaced it for a reasonable price. Very pleasant people to work with.
