River City Brakes

I've actually used river city for years.I have sent my sister, my son and my niece there as well as having my brakes done several times on several vehicles but all it takes is one really bad experience, and this was the one. I got my Groupon to get my back break's done and then also supplied Napa rotors, as suggested and paid eighty dollars per axle to have those replaced as well. Then I went on a casual trip to LA. On the way back, the breaks started acting up, and when I called to inform River City, they told me it was no big deal. It was probably just my caliper sticking. It wasn't & before I got home the brakes had completely seized, and I had to call a tow truck. I had my front and rear brake pads replaced here and the experience was excellent from start to finish. When I first called, he immediately mentioned that my car model often has warped front rotors. That kind of insight gave me confidence because when I previously had them done somewhere else many years ago, my front rotors were warped too, so I know he was speaking truth and giving valuable insight. I picked up a pair of rotors prior to coming in. When I brought everything in, he checked my parts and confirmed that my front rotors were indeed warped. His expertise saved me time and helped me avoid future issues. He also looked at my rear rotors and explained what to watch for down the line. This guy is a piece of work and I really question his credibility! I purchased a Groupon and told the guy that I traveled 30 minutes to get my breaks done by him and he turned me away saying my breaks were good. I told him that I went to another mechanic and SAW my breaks with my own eyes that my breaks were at about 20% and I didn’t feel safe driving the car. Then he proceeded to tell me 1. the breaks aren’t the problem, 2. we don’t go behind other peoples work, 3. you would have to install the rotors too… even though the Groupon said front and rear break pads only so WHICH ONE WAS IT ?! He gave me 3 excuses that made no sense then told me to refund the coupon and I couldn’t!!! Then says good luck and walks away. I've been going to RCB for years now. Michael is the best!! They do everything, not just brakes. If you want to take them parts for your car he'll use them, or he'll get them for you, it's up to you. He gets the job done quick and for very reasonable prices. Love them!!!

Took my Honda C-RV there several years back and got the pads replaced. Everything was done quickly and efficiently and I believe it was Mike who even educated me about how these Hondas have big rotors and get too hot being stuffed into small wheel openings and often get warped due to excessive heat build-up and then when it rains or you drive through a puddle this can sometimes warp them, resulting in uneven braking surfaces. Going back this week to take the SO's Mazda in for new pads.
