I honestly feel like I made a friend at Rory and Son Transmissions. Don't bother to go anywhere else. I have had a well known shop in Norfolk repair my transmissions on my station wagon in the past and it failed at 3 months. They fixed it so that was good but I wanted a better shop. I stumbled on Rory and son over the internet. Their reviews are fantastic. Believe me, they are the best. I took my 1984 square body truck in to get my 350 turbo rebuilt and found out from James "Rory's son" that they did engine swaps. They rebuilt my trans mission, installed my Blueprint engine, installed my headers, checked and changed the fluid on my differential, and ran my exhaust. I couldn't be happier. The price was very fair and James was not only knowledgable, he is one of the coolest dudes I ever met

My car was quoted at Firestone to need a transmission seal replaced. This would have cost me thousands of dollars! I went to Rory and Son to get a second opinion. It turns out my transmission is fine and I only needed a new intake seal. Saved me hundreds, was knowledgeable, and professional. I highly recommend them if you live in the Hampton Roads area!

I just called them for the first time ever about my 1988 Mustang GT. I was referred to them by another shop that doesn’t work on antiques. I sent them a small video of my problem and they explained exactly what I was seeing. I have 4 antique vehicles and that’s what they specialize in. Instead of blowing me off because my car wasn’t there they took the time to assist me and in my book that goes a long way. They definitely just earned a new customer. Plus I found out they’re into drag racing so double 5 stars.

Took my 69 RS/SS matching numbers 396 camaro to them to fix a botched job done by another rod shop. They made me feel right at home and showed me my baby would be safe. They fixed everything plus more that was wrong. Went above and beyond what I expected and cost me a third of what I paid the other guy. Gonna bring my 71 C20 pick up to them next.

I would absolutely get Rory and Son Transmission and Driveline to do any work that they offer on any of my vehicles. I don’t know the full scope of services they offer, but they performed a transmission drain and fill on my 17 Highlander and a complete transmission rebuild on my 07 Suburban at 184k miles. The Toyota dealer told me the Highlander trans fluid was good for the life of the vehicle. A quick Google search kinda debunks this one. Rory and Son did the drain and fill. The trans rebuild has been great so far-after a 2-3k miles. Their estimate was very close to the initial ball park estimate. Communication was great. Always answer the phone, will call back in a reasonable amount of time if you miss them. Willing to explain the whole process. They also finished on time as promised.
